Education and Community Engagement

The Friends bring some of the world’s finest musicians to our community. And beginning with our 2022-2023 season, the journey takes off with our new education and community engagement initiatives! From master classes to residencies, from free events to spontaneous performances, and much more. We are eager to give back to Greater Kansas City.

Please contact Brett Robison at brett@chambermusic.org if you are interested in our education and community outreach opportunities.

Chamber Music for Everyone!

The Friends offer a great variety of educational opportunities in the community. Here are just a few of the initiatives taking place this season:

MASTERCLASSES
Twelve of our artists will be presenting masterclasses in local universities, schools, and on stage. Many of these offerings are open to the public. Join our Education and Community Engagement mailing list (EDCE) for dates and times.

SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS
We have identified multiple public, private, and charter schools whose students are passionate about chamber music or would not learn about it without our help. These outstanding schools will receive in-school visits, coaching by our Artistic Directors Dmitri & Hyeyeon, and special presentations curated just for them. Interested in being considered for a visit? Check back soon for a short application form for interested partners.

AREA PARTNERSHIPS
We are thrilled to partner with area organizations who are providing outstanding services in our community. From after-school music programs such as Harmony Project KC to summer festivals such as the Heartland Chamber Music Festival, we are dedicated to helping young musicians dream big!

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
The Friends has always made it our mission to provide the world’s greatest chamber music at affordable prices. New in 2024-25, we are expanding our offerings by presenting free concerts in the community. From family-centric chamber music performances to free concerts at libraries, churches, and community centers, we are living up to our name and making more friends for chamber music. Join our Education and Community Engagement mailing list (EDCE) for dates and times.
