On this magical evening, The Tallis Scholars trace miraculous moments from the life of Christ through five centuries of choral masterworks. From nativity and healing to resurrection and revelation, each piece offers a profound encounter with the divine. The journey begins with Gabrieli’s radiant O magnum mysterium and Victoria’s O magnum mysterium Mass, interwoven with De Wert’s vivid motets portraying Christ’s healing power and command over nature. The focus then turns to the virgin birth and resurrection, in deeply expressive works by Tallis, Gallus, and Guerrero. The program concludes with two luminous and meditative works by Arvo Pärt, including Virgencita — a contemporary homage to the enduring mystery of faith.
