The Friends with You — Education & Community Engagement

At Friends of Chamber Music Kansas City, we believe that music has the power to transform lives, bridge communities, and inspire generations. Our Education and Community Engagement efforts are geared to make world-class chamber music accessible to everyone, from students and lifelong learners to underserved communities across Kansas City. Through workshops, masterclasses, school outreach, and free community performances, we connect audiences of all ages with our cherished artform. These programs are an invitation for all to explore, learn, and grow with music – nurturing a vibrant, inclusive community that cherishes the joy and depth of chamber music.

Chamber Music is for Everyone!

Our mission is in our name — to make more Friends of Chamber Music. Whichever way we can make it happen, that is what we do!

MASTERCLASSES
The Friends regularly connects our guest artists with area students in a masterclass setting; and many of these offerings are open to the public. We regularly collaborate with area organizations to provide these opportunities. Our regular partners include UMKC, KU, Jewell College, Park University, and many others.

SCHOOLS
We work hard to bring world-class chamber music to schools across the Kansas City Area in special performances, workshops, and presentations. Nothing makes us happier that to reach the next generation of music lovers!

PARTNERS
We are thrilled to partner with area organizations who, like us, are nurturing our community. From after-school music programs such as Harmony Project KC to summer festivals such as the Heartland Chamber Music Festival, we are dedicated to helping young musicians dream big!

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
From pre-concert talks and artist meet-and-greets to free concerts at libraries, churches, hospitals, and community centers — we make it our goal to uplift and enrich lives through chamber music. Please, let us know if you can think of a way that we can transform your community!

ACCESS TO CONCERTS
We believe in making all our events accessible and we want you to be able to enjoy world-class chamber music regardless of your circumstances. This is why we stand by initiatives like Club35, special rates for students and educators, group discounts, free tickets for our partners and all those 17 and younger, and so much more!
