The Friends Welcomes Jackie Lee as Young Artist Project Director

The Friends of Chamber Music Kansas City (FCMKC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jackie Lee as the organization's first Young Artist Project Director. With his extensive experience as an educator and his deep passion for training the future of chamber music, Mr. Lee brings a fresh perspective and dynamic energy to the Young Artist Project (YAP) program.
As the YAP Director, Mr. Lee will oversee the program, its logistics, enrollment, and schedule. He will also provide, alongside distinguished faculty, weekly coaching sessions with students, organize masterclasses and arrange performance opportunities. In addition, Jackie will work closely alongside the Artistic Directors Dmitri Atapine and Hyeyeon Park with a particular focus on fostering artistic excellence within the students and ensuring that the mission of FCMKC to nurture the next generation of chamber music lovers remains central to the organization.
As a dedicated and distinguished chamber musician and teacher, Mr. Lee has an impressive track record of success in the field. He has earned top prize awards in the Cleveland Institute of Music Concerto Competition, the Ekstrand Competition, and the National Viola Competition of Taiwan. In addition, Mr. Lee was recognized by the Music Teachers National Association for his work with the Kammer Trio, which earned the silver medal at the 2011 MTNA National Chamber Music Competition. Mr. Lee’s collaborative approach and commitment to artistic integrity make him an ideal choice for this important role.
Mr. Lee’s passion for chamber music has been a driving force throughout his career and he deeply believes in the transformative power of the art form. “I am honored to join the Friends of Chamber Music Kansas City and to bring my passion for teaching to this exceptional organization” said Jackie Lee. “This new educational arm to the organization will provide unparalleled opportunities for young musicians, broadening their horizons, inspiring, and fostering the next generation of artists and audiences here in Kansas City!”
